Impact Assessment of Climate Change on the Near and the Far Future Streamflow in the Bocheongcheon Basin of Geumgang River, South Korea

Highly concentrated precipitation during the rainy season poses challenges to South Korean water resources management in efficiently storing and redistributing resources. Under new climate regime, is likely become more challenging with regards water-related disaster risk deterioration of quality. To alleviate such issues by adjusting plans, this study examined impact change on streamflow Bocheongcheon basin Geumgang river. A globally accepted hydrologic model, HEC-HMS was chosen for simulation. By calibration validation processes, model performance evaluated range between “satisfactory” “very good”. The calibrated then used simulate future over six decades from 2041 2100 under RCP4.5 RCP8.5. results indicated significant increase site all months seasons simulation period.
